Circular Economy of Electrical Machines

The Future Electrical Machines Manufacturing (FEMM) hub has recently launched a new grand challenge focusing on sustainable manufacture and circular economy of electrical machines. As part of the initial work, they are conducting an industrial survey to understand the current landscape within the UK for repair, remanufacture, and recycling of electrical machines. The aim of this survey is to understand the gaps within the UK in this area, and for the FEMM hub to help develop new opportunities for UK based companies.

Above is a short survey for your company to fill in which gives an overview of activities for the circular economy of electrical machines. FEMM would appreciate your cooperation with filling in this survey, and we will be happy to share the results of the survey with your company before they are published in an academic paper (with company names removed and specific details anonymised). They are also happy to discuss follow on projects which could fit within the remit of the FEMM hub (more information on our website https://electricalmachineshub.ac.uk/).

To respond to this request, FEMM can set up a phone/video call and a member of our team can record your responses. Alternatively, they are happy if you would prefer to simply fill in the attached survey and return to Jill Miscandlon (jill.miscandlon@strath.ac.uk). They are looking to collect all responses before Friday 19th March 2021. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any comments/questions about the survey.
