Reverse Logistics Workshop – Review
On the 13th of September, SIR hosted an interactive workshop with some of the leading companies and experts in the reverse logistics field to identify, solve and collaborate on the challenges impacting the move towards a more circular Supply Chain.
The first keynote speaker was Malene Køster Lasthein, CEO and Founder of Circular Transition, highlighted the challenges and potential solutions in reverse logistics from the companies she works with in Denmark. The presentation sparked some good conversations and led onto an interactive session facilitated by Kathi Kaeselage from Edinbugh University. Following this delegates participated in a workshop discussing the practical challenges and potential solutions they face in implementing reverse logistics in their business. The discussion generated interesting common challenges across sectors and highlighted the potential for collaborative cross sector working
Professor Umit Bitici from Heriot Watt University kick started the afternoon session by sharing the key learnings from his department’s research with companies implementing successful reverse logistic supply chains.
The final session of the day was hosted by Serhan Alshammari from Cranfield University who showcased the Reverse Logistics Maturity Model developed in association with DHL for the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and led the delegates through applying the model to their business in a workshop session.
