UK-China Remanufacturing Forum

The Scottish Institute for Remanufacturing (SIR) hosted the UK-China Remanufacturing Forum on May 30, 2024.

This was an opportunity for the SIR to welcome a delegation from the Hebei Province in China, led by the Hejian District Government, and a selection of policy-makers, industrial players and academics from across Scotland and the UK.

Hejian District Government representatives and businesses presented on the region as a remanufacturing hub, where over 200 industrial remanufacturing businesses are located.

Remanufacturing business Turbo-Tec Ltd. (from Poland), with sites across Europe and a global presence, presented on their Remanufacturing International Cooperation with Changli Company China, highlighting the benefits of global collaboration on remanufacturing, and concluding their Cooperation Agreement thereafter.

The event facilitated a number of presentations, roundtable introductions, and discussions on the latest developments in remanufacturing in both China, Scotland, and the wider UK.

UK based organisations including the Remade Group, the Concept Group, and Egg Lighting presented on the latest remanufacturing developments within the UK, including a British Standard on remanufacturing developed together with Egg Lighting.

Representatives from Zero Waste Scotland, Circular Glasgow, the Weir group, and CCL North also introduced their latest circular economy projects.
