SIR Director, Professor Winifred Ijomah, collaborates with University West, Sweden, as visiting Professor

SIR Director, Professor Winifred Ijomah, further expands the engagement and expertise of the Scottish Institute for Remanufacturing as International Visiting Professor at University West, Sweden. Professor Ijomah will support the strengthening of remanufacturing expertise and competence at University West in research and education in the field.
Professor Ijomah will share longstanding research expertise into remanufacturing, of over 20 years, drawing on the work of the SIR, and experiences from academia and industry. This competence will strengthen University West’s (Högskolan Väst, HV) ambition of advancing research and education in the field.
Professor Ijomah’ s research spans circular product and process design, and focuses on product end-of-life, particularly remanufacturing. Her work has been incorporated in the British Standards Institute (e.g. BS 8887-220:2010- Design for manufacture, assembly, disassembly) and Professor Ijomah assists industry to meet environmental legislation, as a member of national (UK) and international committees. Professor Ijomah is the founder of the Springer’s Journal of Remanufacturing, the first academic journal in the remanufacturing field, and initiated and chairs the International Conference on Remanufacturing (ICoR). ICoR runs in conjunction with ReMaTec, the world’s leading remanufacturing exhibition and trade event, attracting thousands of international delegates. This fusion facilitates knowledge dissemination across academia, industry, public and policy personnel. We look forward to expanding the reach of our remanufacturing expertise through this opportunity and collaboration!
